If New York City is known for one thing, it is how it draws all the best parts of other cultures towards the heart of the city, embracing them all as its own! This vegan banana pudding at Willow NYC is no different. Originating from Central and South America, this dish has grown in popularity to become one of the most beloved desserts in our great city. Now, every guest can enjoy these rich, decadent flavors completely cruelty-free!

The brilliant minds behind the Willow menu take care in every item they craft. Starting with a classic bistro dish, they bring worldwide culinary experience to elevate each plate to the highest level. Vegan Banana Pudding At Willow NYC

Willow’s Banana Pudding

Though this decadent dessert is usually loaded down with heavy dairy, the genius minds at Willow have managed to work a miracle: creating a dairy-free imitation with all the texture, flavor, and Southern feel of the original!

As is tradition, this treat is served with fresh bananas and vanilla wafers. However, in true Willow style, our banana pudding takes things one step further. A generous drizzle of banana liqueur adds an elegant twist to the original flavor, enlightening the senses without overwhelming each bite with sweetness.

A scoop of Madagascar vanilla cream ties this dessert off with a flourish, cementing it as one of the most decadent takes on a childhood classic you’ve ever seen.

By keeping the menu entirely accessible, the chefs at Willow hope to open new doors to people from all over the city– and beyond– allowing them to sample all their old favorites without compromising their beliefs. Through their contributions, they hope to showcase how delicious and simple a vegan lifestyle truly can be.

A healthy, happy life without compromise: in the end, what could be better than that?

Vegan Old Fashioned Banana Pudding Recipe

Great for kids, dinner guests, or just as a quick “pick-me-up,” this vegan old-fashioned banana pudding is sure to make a return appearance in your household.

Though you can serve this treat however you like, we suggest going the extra mile to proportion it into individual servings. In particular, mason jars make a practical and attractive way to store and serve this dessert, enhancing the Southern charm while ensuring even portioning.

Ingredients

1 cup of oat milk
1 cup of coconut milk
3 1/2 tablespoons coconut sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

15 vegan vanilla wafers
1 cup of vegan whipped cream
2 bananas
Pinch of turmeric (for color)

Banana Pudding Recipe At Willow NYC

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan (unheated) combine all the following ingredients: oat milk, coconut milk, sugar, cornstarch, and turmeric. Stir until the cornstarch has fully dissolved. Then, bring it up to medium heat. Stir frequently as the mixture heats to ensure that the sugar melts properly.
  2. Once your pudding begins to boil, reduce the heat to low; then, begin stirring for around two to five minutes or until the mixture reaches the right consistency. Throughout this process, never stop stirring.
  3. Remove the pudding from the heat, add your vanilla extract, then allow it to cool for around ten minutes.
  4. All that is left from here is to assemble your old-fashioned banana pudding! Spoon a generous serving of banana pudding into each mason jar (or large bowl, if you choose this route), then top with the vegan whipped cream. Slice your bananas to use as a tasty garnish, and enjoy your adorable, delicious treat!
